The Original Legend
An unknown Indian Legend says, that at one time, Mother Earth became angry at all the violence upon the earth. During her rage, the Red Wolf Clan accidentally walked into the realm of death and became trapped.
Mother Earth tried to restore them, but it was too late and the Red Wolf Clan had mysteriously came alive in death.
The Maliceet people were the first clan to witness the terror caused by these new creatures and they had called them Apotamkin.
When Mother Earth discovered that the Red Wolf Clan had a thirst for death and blood, she gave special powers to select Medicine Men to control and watch over them.
The last Medicine man who carried the old Indian ways, just died, and the Red Wolf clan is now free to multiply and feed.

Vampires
have existed in various cultures almost from the beginning of time. Until the
19th century, they believe to be the monster, instead of the more aristocratic
stereotypes that can infiltrate the world around us, as popularized by Bram
Stoker. The legend has grown since, with pop-culture shows like "Buffy the
Vampire Slayer", which deal with concepts such as a vampire with a soul
and the possibility for redemption before the creature is believed to have no
redeeming qualities at all. Bella lists the results of her observations when
she was researching on the internet: "The speed, strength, beauty, pale
skin, eye color shift, and then Jacob's criteria: blood drinkers, enemies of
the werewolf, cold-skinned, and immortal." (TW7) an excellent summary of
the vampire legend can be found at Wikipedia.
Our Twilight vampires differ more, and often there is a difference of the vampire legend, although some features remain the same. As Stephenie Meyer explains, "Almost all of the limitations of vampire superstition in the world completely false. Vampires do not really have a limit, in addition to self-imposed guidelines to keep their existence secret. Did not realize the time, no problems with sunlight, crosses, garlic , holy water, wooden stakes, etc ... These are all myths-deliberately placed in the early centuries of easily influenced to mislead people and make them feel safe. "(PC8)
A. Vampires are cool to the touch This is obviously true
in Twilight. From the first time Bella meets Edward's skin we find that the
"fingers of ice-cold" (TW2) other Cullens also seems to have cold
skin: Carlisle has a "cool finger" (TW3), Esme has a "hold the
cold stone" (TW15), and so on.
2. When they are dead, vampires do not need oxygen for
survival. Again, this is true. Bella notices of the first meeting with Edward
that "it continues to sit so still it looked like he was not
breathing." (TW1). He explains this in more depth to Bella later in the
novel when he asks how long he can go without breathing: "Indefinitely, I
guess. I do not know. It gets a little uncomfortable, because without a sense
of smell." (TW16).
3. Vampires have pale skin and fangs. All the Cullens have
very pale skin, "pale than I, the albino" (TW1); skin that is
regularly described as "marble" (TW13) in both color and perfection.
The skin is also remarkable because "bruiselike purplish shadow"
under the eyes showed lack of sleep. However, the Twilight vampires, "It
does not have fangs. Their teeth are so sharp and the fangs are strong so it is
not necessary (they can bite through steel, if so inclined, a man's neck like
butter)" (PC1) In many ways, Meyer's vampires are much more violent than
the vampire legend, because they drink the blood involves more meat savaging of
two neat fang holes in the neck.
4. Vampires can change shape and even fly (sometimes
in the form of a bat) Bella asks about it when Edward offered to show how it
moves through the forest: "Will you turn into a bat?" I asked
cautiously. He laughed harder than I've ever heard. "As I've never heard
it before." (TW13) It's fair to assume from Edward's response to these
stereotypical expectations so far from true that it is ridiculous. Instead of
flight, Stephenie Meyer's vampires have extreme skill and speed of fast
reflexes. They walked the equivalent of flying. Five-mile climb to the prairie
made on the way home "within minutes" (TW13), and Edward's driving
just as fast, but it is very safe because he is fast reflexes: "I've never
had an accident. (TW9) Each flight, however, must be done in the plane, such as
Edward "catch the first flight from Seattle" (TW21) Bella to be
together!
5. Vampires have no reflection in the mirror in the
Twilight vampires have reflections. On the flight of James, notes Edward Bella
hesitated when "I saw the look in the mirror," (TW18) of the car. In
PC4, Stephenie Meyer vampire reject this part of the tradition, saying it will
be discussed in New Moon, but the vampires would have a reflection.
6. Vampires can only enter a house if he was invited in.
"Vampires do not need an invitation to enter the house." (PC8). We
see Edward take Bella's truck keys from his home without invitation, and he was
able to see at night without any knowledge.
7. Sunlight can burn or kill vampires. Bella never heard
this myth itself: "Vampires can not get out at noon, the sun will burn
them to ashes." (TW7) Although there is no bright Cullens go to school
now, this is not because the sun hurts them, because "no," but
because they "can not go out in the sun" at least, not where anyone
can see, "(TW9) because such dazzling diamonds sparkling in the skin.
Sunlight sign vampires out for what they are, but do not harm them in any way.
8. Vampires can not eat human food. Their sustenance comes
from the blood alone. This feature vampires viewed directly from the first
chapter when Alice throw him, "unopened soda, apple unbitten" (TW1).
Bella got curious enough to ask Edward what would happen if she actually ate
something, and Edward "accidentally bite a mouthful [pizza], quickly
chewed and then swallowed." (TW10), thus proving that it is possible to
physically eat a vampire. However, we are also told that because of physical
changes that are inherent in being a vampire, "He had a cough that later
to get rid of it. Not the most pleasant thing, which is why the vampires only
eat food when they absolutely have to in order to blend in." (PC7)
9. Crosses, garlic, holy water and ward off vampires
similar goods. Stephenie Meyer sums it up best: "Bunch of garbage."
(PC4) that the Cullens are very affected by this that they even have an old
wooden cross that hung in their house, which used to belong to the father
Carlisle. Edward laughed and admitted, "It is sort of ironic." (TW15)
10. Vampires can be killed by decapitation, wooden stakes
or ordained a bullet through the heart. Vampires can be killed, even though the
other vampires just strong enough to do so. Emmett and Jasper "care
of" James (TW24) and the likelihood that they follow the path which is
known to terminate the existence of vampires, namely, "to tear him to
shreds and then burn the pieces." (TW19) It is impossible for man to kill
a vampire in any way because they are too strong to be able to receive a human
or a human weapon: "You try to push the wood through granite." (PC4)
11. Vampires sleep in coffins. Again, this is something
you remember about the vampire Bella when he was first to investigate them:
"They sleep in coffins all day and only come out at night." (TW7).
This is obviously highly unlikely as the Cullens usually at school or at work
during the day, and is something that Bella and Edward jokes about later when
Bella Cullen visited the house. "There was no coffin?" (TW15) Apart
from anything else, in the Twilight world, vampires do not sleep. "I can
not sleep" (TW9), so the coffin will be completely redundant anyway!
EGYPTIANS:
THE IMMORTAL DRINK
The care the
Egyptians took to ensure that the graves manifested itself in the deep tombs
was important. From the surviving remnants of the so-called "method of
transformation" parchment, which J. Sullivan entrusted to a Quileute chief
in the late 19th century and which describes three self-effected means by which
a human can undergo the transformation into Apotamkin, the cold one, along with
several short anecdotes of uncertain veracity and at least one occult formula
that is reminiscent of a process described in a medieval French grimoire
(FR-2-BNA-0035813 with the Theosophical Society at Adyar, BB collection).
